Recall that Israel’s Yamina party leader, Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid of Yesh Atid party and Ra’am political party (United Arab List) chairman, Mansour Abbas, had signed an agreement to form a new government and had notified the parliament.

THE WHISTLER reported that on Thursday, Netanyahu urged his colleagues in Knesset to vote against it.

He had also alleged on Monday that the new coalition had a dishonest agenda, adding that “Bennett deceived his voters and passed votes from right to left only to appoint himself prime minister with 6 seats.”

But Lapid debunked Netanyahu’s allegations, assuring Israelis that the new government would work within the confines of the law.

“The coalition agreements will be guided by law. The unity government is launching for the benefit of the citizens of the State of Israel,” he stated.

Netanyahu is one of the longest serving prime ministers in the country. He has been in office from 1996 to 1999 and since 2009 till date.
