Mandelblit had alleged that the prime minister engaged in bribery, fraud and breach of trust while serving as the country’s leader.

Among other things, he was said to have awarded about $500 million to a multi-media company (Bezeq Telecom Israel), for the purpose of getting favorable coverage of himself and his administration.

But Netanyahu had denied the allegation and pleaded not guilty in court.

He had said “I won’t let political scandals use this matter to interfere with the historic move I lead.”
