Italy VS Spain: Low Sales Forces UEFA To Cut Ticket Prices For First Semi-Final Clash

UEFA have reduced the ticket fee for the semi-final clash between Spain and Italy at Wembley.

The teams are expected to give the football world an intriguing play in Wembley after Spain beat Switzerland on penalties, while Italy beat Belgium 2-1 to get to the semi- finals.

Despite the huge expectations for the clash which extends the rivalry between the two nations, ticket sales have been very low.

To contain the spread of Covid-19, only 60,000 fans will be allowed to watch from Wembley.

But the tickets which have been classified into four categories have been discounted by the football body.

UEFA have placed the price for Category 1 at €595, while Category 2 price is €345.

Category 3 price is €195, while Fans First ticket price is €85.

According to The Athletic, Category 1 (€595), Category 2 (€345), Category 3 (€195) have been discounted since the past two weeks.

As of the time of filing the report, THE WHISTLER observed that the tickets were still available.

“Tickets are available for today’s UEFA EURO 2020 semi-final between Italy and Spain at Wembley Stadium,” a notice on UEFA website reads.

Dailymail quoted a spokesperson saying, “UEFA has decided to re-categorise the seating plan for the semi-final between Italy and Spain due to the impossibility for travelling fans to attend the game.

“This impossibility led to ticket returns and UEFA decided to make such tickets available at cheaper prices to give the chance to as many fans as possible to attend the game.”
