Iyabo Obasanjo Bombs Buhari: My Father’s Letter On Point, You’ve Failed

Iyabo Obasanjo, former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s daughter, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to accept her father’s counsel in good faith by joining the league of “retired elder statesmen in 2019”.

Iyabo, a former Senator in the 6th National Assembly, said this in reaction to the republishing of a letter she wrote in criticism of her father in 2013 on social media.

The former Nigerian Senator is accusing the Buhari regime of re-circulating the letter so as to distract Nigerians from her father’s letter in which the former president described the current administration as having failed.

Iyabo said instead of using the old letter to divert attention, President Buhari should heed the former president’s counsel by stepping down in 2019.

She said Buhari and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who should “benefit from the advise and admonishment of one of the most brilliant leaders to ever emerge in modern Africa have resorted to a cheap tactic that further reiterates the message that they found abhorrent enough to start looking for unconnected issues to put together to make their point.”
