It is high time now that a drastic action ought to be taken against falling standard of education in the country . It is very ridiculous of the almighty JAMB to succumb to pressure from parents and guardians wanting their children and wards to be admitted into tertiary institutions .JAMB should be in position of giving orientation to our little ones at secondary schools that University Education is not for those who are not serious at school and whoever fail to score 225marks upward should not think of matriculation .
The Government at various levels should be proactive to provision of learning institutions such as Technical Colleges ,Upper Class Schools where ‘WAEC’ or NECO wounded candidates will attend to upgrade their O/Levels even to A/Levels . A lot of our youths are very good in technical and crafts but have no idea of how to kick start , by giving them the orientation that such a task demands .The authority must do something to help. Adult Education should be consider as a salient tool as it was done in Cuba during the time of Fidel Castro . Functional Literacy should be consider as a tool to help those with vocations or trades . Seminars and conferences will be of greater help to farmers and artisans .
