Jeff Bezos Unseats Bill Gate As World’s Richest Person

Welcome to the era of the ‘centi-billionaire’ as the Amazon chief executive officer (CEO), Jeff Bezos officially unseats Bill Gates on Forbes 2018 richest billionaires list.

According to Forbes, Bezos’ net worth has surpassed the $100bn mark, making him the only centi-billionaire on the ultra-wealthy list in the world with net worth of $112 billion.

The Amazon CEO is now worth around $22 billion more than the second richest person, Bill Gates, with net worth of $90 billion, according to the published list of the world’s billionaires released on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018.

Bezos is also the only person to ever appear on the list with a 12-figure fortune.

Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates who has been on the top spot for the last four consecutive years and in total 18 times in the past 24 years has now been dethroned to take the second spotlight in the list.

According to records, Forbes found 2,208 billionaires, collectively worth $9.1 trillion, among them, are 259 newcomers who made their fortunes in everything from wedding dresses, children’s toys to electric cars.
