Jerusalem Violence: 24 Killed As Israeli Military, Hamas Exchange ‘330 Rockets’

About 24 persons have died following rocket bombardments between Israel’s military and Hamas organization in Gaza, Palestine.

The Israel Defense Force tweeted on Tuesday that in the last 24 hours, Hamas fired over 200 rockets into Jerusalem.

Hamas is a movement established in 1987 to incorporate Jerusalem and parts of Israel into Palestine.

The European Union and the United States consider the group as a terrorist organization, but many United Nations member state don’t see them as such.

Furthermore, the Israeli military noted that it retaliated against Hamas by striking 130 targets in Gaza in the early hours of Tuesday.

It also confirmed that that a home in Ashkelon, Israel, was hit thereby injuring parents and two children.

“In response to 200+ rockets fired from Gaza toward Israel, we killed 15 Hamas terrorists and struck 130 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror targets in Gaza overnight.

“The Israeli military has launched air strikes against militant targets in the Gaza Strip after Palestinian militants fired rockets toward Jerusalem,” it tweeted.

Palestinian health officials said 24 people, including nine children have been killed as a result of the Israeli airstrikes.

THE WHISTLER reported that the fallout is coming after clashes at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount on Monday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent had said that about 300 people were injured by Israel’s security forces during a confrontation at holy sites. Meanwhile, the US and UN have called for calm.
