John Dumelo: Wearing ‘Made In Ghana Clothes’ Will Create Jobs

Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has advised his people to start wearing clothes made in Ghana to workplaces.

Dumelo said he believes this will help to create jobs and “instantly boost local production and position Ghana as a fashion and textile hub in the sub-region.”

In a post he made on his twitter handle, the actor also said that Monday should be added to Friday as a day for wearing locally made attire.

“To be honest, the Friday wear is not enough. We should add Monday to it. So twice a week we all should wear made in Ghana clothes.”

State institutions in Ghana and most private companies have set aside Friday to promote locally made clothes. Workers are required to wear local textile prints often referred to as ‘Friday Wear’.

Dumelo has also ventured into politics, as he is aspiring to represent his Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency at the parliament.
