Jonathan’s Uncle Freed By Kidnappers

Chief Inegite Jonathan, an uncle and foster father to former President Goodluck Jonathan, who was abducted on February 17 has regained his freedom.

This was confirmed by the Spokesman for Bayelsa Police Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, on Tuesday evening

Although, Butswat said that details of the freedom were not yet available, he revealed that “the victim has been released and reunited with his family.” He however noted that he was yet to get the details.

Jonathan, 72, was kidnapped at his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa along with a 35-year-old relative Mr Samuel Oki, who was later killed by the abductors.

He was first kidnapped in February 28th 2014 in his house and was freed by security agents on March 10, 2014 only to be kidnapped again this year.
