Jonathan’s Ex-Aide Slams Buhari For ‘Advertising’ Ekwueme’s Overseas Treatment

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s ex-media aide, Reno Omokri, has slammed the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government for “advertising” its approval of overseas medical treatment for former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme.

This comes after presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, announced on Friday that President Buhari had directed that Ekwueme be flown abroad for medical treatment.

Recall that the former Vice President had reportedly collapsed and was consequently admitted into a hospital in Enugu.

But reacting on Sunday, Omokri wondered why the current administration would publicise the gesture, accusing the president of trying to score “cheap political point”.

“Treatment abroad is a right of an ex-vice president.

“President Muhammadu Buhari didn’t do Ekwueme a favour. President Goodluck Jonathan purchased bulletproof vehicles for Buhari without announcing it.

“It is only a petty and shallow administration eager to score cheap political points with a sick man’s health that announces that the President has given the man his due!,” Omokri wrote on his Facebook page.
