Jubril From Sudan: Presidency Reacts As US Comedian Mocks Nigeria Leader

The Nigerian presidency has reacted to a joke by popular American comedian, Jimmy Kimmel on President Muhammadu Buhari being cloned.

Recall that Buhari, while in Poland, responded to allegations that he had been cloned and replaced by one Jubril from Sudan.

“I can assure you all that this is the real me. Later this month I will celebrate my 76th birthday. And I’m still going strong!” he said.

Wading into the allegation, Trevor Noah, a South African comedian, on his programme ‘The Daily Show,’ said President Buhari is having “an identity crisis.”

His co-host said, “Now we’re supposed to believe he is not a clone, but I don’t know. But if the CIA did have the technology, they are going to test it on an African first. You don’t just try that out on rich white people.

“The CIA chief is going to be like, ‘this might not work the first time so find me someone that doesn’t matter. The president of Nigeria? Yes, that’s just perfect!”

Similarly, in a viral video of an American late-night show aired on ABC news in the US, Kimmel said Buhari’s response to the allegation is ”exactly what a clone will say”.

Reacting to the video, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Abike Dabiri, said, “Cracking up on Jimmy Kimmel Live joke on the issue of Buhari cloning.

“Jimmy is a comedian, his source of livelihood. The joke is a no to the stupidly of even believing in the cloning narrative at all, not on PMB. Won’t waste energy on this. That’s all,” she wrote on Twitter.
