Empire actor, Jussie Smollett has been arrested by the Chicago Police Department.
The 36-year-old’s arrest was confirmed today by the Chicago police spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi, on his official Twitter page.

Smollett is indicted with a felony charge by the grand jury in Chicago for allegedly filing a false police report.
Recall that the actor had alleged two masked men identified to be Ola and Abel Osundairo of abusing him with racist and homophobic slurs before beating him up early on 29 January.
However, the Empires star’s lawyers, Todd Pugh and Victor Henderson has said they intend to conduct a thorough investigation and mount an aggressive defense.
“Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked.
“Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense.”
