JUST IN: Former Ghana President Jerry Rawlings Dead
Former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawling (73) is dead.
The former leader was said to have died following his admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, according to Ghana local media.

A former Nigerian Presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu also eulogized him in a tweet.
“The saddest news of this year, my GOD, former PRESIDENT JERRY JOHN RAWLINGS of Ghana has passed on; I’m completely devasted! Good night, an African hero… RIP,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the current Ghanaian government is yet to release an official statement on Rawling’s demise, as of the time of this report.

Rawlings, as military general and politician, ruled the country from 1981 to 2001. Notably, he led a military junta until 1992, and later served as democratically elected President of Ghana.
