JUST IN: Longtime CNN Host Larry King Dies At 87

Renown broadcaster and long-time television host for the Cable News Network (CNN), Larry King, has passed on at age 87.

CNN stated that the late broadcaster had hosted the “Larry King Live” on its platform “for over 25 years”.

Announcing his demise in a statement on Saturday, King’s organization, Ore Media said the 87-year old died at a hospital.

It also noted that King’s career spanned 63 years.

“With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

“For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television and digital media, Larry’s many thousands of interviews, awards, and global acclaim stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster,” it stated.

On his part, Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, condoled with King’s family, adding that he will be greatly missed.

“Larry King was indeed the king of broadcasting. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace. @CNN,” he tweeted.
