JUST IN: Maina To Be Extradited To Nigeria After INTERPOL Arrest In Niger

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has disclosed that it is perfecting extradition processes for the former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina two has been arrested in Niger Republic.

The force disclosed this through a series of tweets on its official handle on Tuesday.

This website had reported that Maina was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force INTERPOL in the Niger Republic on Monday.

The force, however, said he would be extradited to Nigeria to enable him face trial in pending criminal proceedings.

“The former pension boss was declared wanted by a court of competent jurisdiction, was arrested last night, 30th November 2020 through the collaborative efforts of the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, INTERPOL NCB, Abuja and their Nigerien counterpart”.

The police said he is currently being detained in a facility in the Niger Republic awaiting the completion of the extradition processes.

“The Force assures the citizens, that there shall be no hiding place for any suspect, no matter how highly placed,” the police said.
