JUST IN: Nigerian-born Adeyemo Sets Agenda For U.S. As NIDCOM Lauds Biden’s Nomination

Newly nominated Nigerian-born United States Deputy Treasury Secretary, Wally Adeyemo, has reacted to his announcement as a member of the next US Economic team by the President-elect Joe Biden.

Adeyemo, in a tweet on Monday, noted that he would, through the office, make positive impact in the lives of all Americans.

“Public service is about offering hope through the dark times and making sure that our economy works not just for the wealthy, but for the hard-working people who make it run.

“As Deputy Treasury Secretary, I look forward to helping us build back our economy better,” he tweeted.

His reaction came hours after Biden had included him as part of his economic team.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, praised Biden for the nomination.

She said Adeyemo represents a shining example of what Nigeria stands for.

“It’s official! Wale Adeyemo becomes the first ever Nigerian American Deputy Secretary of the US Treasury, in the history of the country!! Congrats to Wale. Proudly Nigerian,” she tweeted.
