JUST IN: Nnamdi Kanu: Cameroonian Separatists Hold Prayers For ‘Abducted’ IPOB Leader

The leader of Cameroonian separatist group, Ambazonia Liberation, Cho Ayaba , has called for prayers regarding the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, following his arrest and extradition to Nigeria by the Nigerian authorities.

Ayaba, while announcing this on Wednesday in a broadcast on the group’s Facebook page, claimed that Kanu was not arrested but abducted.

“My fellow ambazonians, IPOB has confirmed the abduction of its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and following the developing situation, I will make a comprehensive statement in the days ahead.

“The government in Abuja must come to the realization that the abduction and rendition of leaders has never addressed the reasons that have compelled millions of people to act in defiance of tyranny and oppression.

“During this dark moment in the lives of the Biafrans, I call on all of you to pray for Maxi Nnamdi Kanu and in his honor and millions of others like him, rededicate your efforts in the liberation of your home land,” he said.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that Kanu and Ayaba, had in a joint virtual press briefing in April, announced alliance of both groups.

But IPOB has been termed as a terrorist group by the federal government and Kanu is facing an 11-count charge bordering on treasonable felony at a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, had said on Tuesday that Kanu’s interception was timely because he jumped bail and was “been accused of engaging in subversive activities that include inciting violence through television, radio and online broadcasts against Nigeria and Nigerian State and institutions.”

On his part, Ayaba claimed that the federal government’s attempt to marginalize IPOB or agitators only makes their agitations stronger.

He also accused FG of abducting ambazonians.

“The government in Abuja is building a legacy of kidnapping…it began with Ambazonians illegally kidnapped and unlawfully transferred to Cameroun; today, it is the leader of Biafrans, this is a black plague for Biafrans, Nigerians and indeed the sub-Saharan region,” he added.
