JUST IN: Police Announce Arrest Of Prime Suspect In Delta Judge’s Murder

The Delta Police Command has arrested Godwin Mngumi, the prime suspect in the murder of a retired Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ifeoma Okogwu.

The command in a terse statement on Sunday, signed by its spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe said that Mngumi, 25, was arrested in Anambra State on Saturday.

The suspect, the command revealed, had with him the phone of the deceased, which had been recovered.

“On 6th December 2025, an Operative of homicide section of State CID, Delta State Police command acting on intelligence has arrested one Godwin Mngumi aged 25 years, the security who allegedly murdered Justice Ifeoma Okogwu (Rtd) in Anambra State and the phone of the late RTD justice has also been recovered from him.

“He confessed that he invited his friend, Nnaji Obalum and one other suspect at large over to the house where they carried out the dastardly act together.

“Nnaji Obalum has also been arrested while the manhunt for the third suspect is ongoing,” the statement said.

Justice Okogwu was murdered in her residence, in Asaba. THE WHISTLER reported that the body of the deceased was discovered in her living room, with her hands and legs tied and her mouth covered with a wrapper.

The deceased’s brother, Emeka Okogwu who came visiting had found her in that state and reported to the police on November 24.

Operatives arrested the on-duty guard, Lucky Matthew, while the prime suspect, the second guard, suspiciously fled.
