JUST IN: Sowore Says Police ‘Shot’ Him In Abuja, Rushed To Hospital

The Revolution Now convener, Omoyele Sowore, says he has been shot by a police operative at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.

In a tweet on Monday, Sowore said he will continue his ‘BuhariMustGo’ protest.

“Just been shot by a police officer, ACP Atine at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. #RevolutionNow Let the struggle continue even if they take my life!,” he tweeted on Monday while floating a picture of where he was allegedly shot.

His lawyer, Abubakar Marshall, told our correspondent that Sowore was shot but added that he and others were at the hospital to find out what he was shot with.

“Yes he was shot. We are with him at the hospital. We need to ascertain what he was shot with,” he said.

Another lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, tweeted that the said police officer fired teargas at Sowore.

“The criminal officer is said to be CSP Atine. She fired a teargas cannister directly at Sowore. This is a criminal offence under the Anti-Torture Act of 2017,” he tweeted.

Recall that Sowore is facing a charge of treasonable felony.
