JUST IN: TAMPAN Suspends Yomi Fabiyi Over ‘Oko Iyabo’ Movie

Following the recent controversial movie ‘Oko Iyabo’ which was relased by Yomi Fabiyi, the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners’ Association has suspended the actor.

The association made this known on Friday in a statement via its Instagram page.

The Actor, according to TAMPAN was suspended indefinitely for gross professional misconducts and unethical practices.’

The statement read in part, “Having listened to the detailed defense of Mr. Yomii Fabiyi,who is the Producer/Director of the Controversial film “OKO IYABO” and his Co-Director Mr. Dele Matti, the Ethic, Conflict and Resolution Committee hereby found them guilty of professional misconduct and unethical practices.

“Although Mr. Yomi Fabiyi insisted that it is his fundamental human right to use his creative talent to produce films that will tell his own account of the trending issue but his Co-Director admitted his fault and regretted his involvement in the film.“

THE WHISTLER had reported that The Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners’ Association on Monday June 5, summoned Fabiyi over his movie, ‘Oko Iyabo’ which was recently released.

Fabiyi’s movie depicted a real-life case involving a fellow actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, fondly known as Baba Ijesha, who was accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

However, the minor in the case is the foster daughter of comedienne, Princess, and actresses like Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing had spoken in support of the minor.
