Juventus Sacks Head Coach Maurizio Sarri

Under fire Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his job by his employers following the clubs exit from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of French Ligue 1 side Lyon on Friday night.

“Juventus Football Club announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the First Team.

“The club would like to thank the coach for having written a new page in Juventus’ history with the victory of the ninth-consecutive championship, the culmination of a personal journey that led him to climb all the divisions of Italian football.”

Reports has it that the club’s hierarchy held a meeting after the club failed to progress to the round of 8 in the UEFA Champions League with Sarris performance in the competition the main focus.

The club’s purchase of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid was to enable the club win the Champions League after several near losses in past years.

The former Chelsea gaffer admitted to having a hard time changing the club to play according to his pattern, thoughhe managed the team to a ninth straight Scudetto, but the success wasn’t enough to save his job.
