Kaduna: Pregnant Woman Killed While El-Rufai, Others Busy Seeking Social Media Regulation – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, the immediate past senator representing Kaduna central, has again attacked northern governors for allegedly neglecting pressing security challenges facing the region to seek regulation of social media during their recent meeting in Kaduna State.

This came after suspected kidnappers reportedly killed a pregnant woman, Aisha Sadiq, while abducting her husband during an attack on Rigachikun community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday.

THE WHISTLER reported earlier that the Northern Governors Forum had met on Monday in Kaduna, where they backed the federal government’s bid to regulate social media in the country.

The northern governors said there was urgent need to regulate social media to check the spread of fake news and hate speech in the country.

But speaking in a series of tweets on Thursday, Sani regretted that the northern governors could convene a meeting to discuss the regulation of social media while the region was facing banditry, kidnappings, amongst others.

He, “My friend abandoned his farm in the outskirts of Kaduna because of Kidnappers and then his farm Guardsman was kidnapped and called to pay Ransom.

“Forty-eight hours after Lalong and his group left Kaduna after lambasting the Social Media and #EndSARS, the kidnappers and bandits they don’t want to talk about abducted Sadiq and extinguished the life of his pregnant wife in the same city.”
