Kaduna Speaker Confirms Killing Of Lawmaker By Bandits

The Kaduna House of Assembly Speaker, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, has confirmed the killing of a member of the state assembly, Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, by suspected bandits.

Details surrounding Gadagau’s death are still sketchy but reports said the member representing Giwa West consistency was killed along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway.

The Kaduna assembly Speaker confirmed the lawmaker’s death in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I write to Announce the Death of a friend a Colleague of mine in the Kaduna State House of Assembly Hon. Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau chairman House Committee on Local Government and Member Representing Giwa.

“May the Almighty Allah Grant Him Aljanatul Firdaus, May the Almighty Allah give his Family the fortitude to bare such great loss,” Zailani wrote.

Efforts to speak to the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, over the incident were unsuccessful as his line was switched off.

THE WHISTLER reported that amidst growing insecurity in the country, especially in the northern region, the Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Rabe Nasir, was killed last week by unknown assailants.

The commissioner was killed at his residence in Fatima Shema Estate, Katsina.
