Kaduna Woman Delivers Quadruplets At Home Because Clinic Was Far Away

A 30-year-old mother of 12 identified as Zainab Abu of Makwalla community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has reportedly given birth to quadruplets in her home because the nearest health centre was too  far away for her.

Abu who gave birth in her home without help from anyone revealed that the distance between her home and the nearest health centre, made her abandon medical check-ups during pregnancies.

She explained that she had been giving birth to multiple of twins, stressing that this was the first time she would have quadruplets.

Speaking with Vanguard, Zainab said the absence of a counsellor denied her the opportunity to space her children.

She added that she always used traditional medicine from local vendors whenever she was feeling pain.

She said; “I have been giving birth to twins in this village without going for any medical checks. This time I delivered all four kids at my husband’s house without any assistance from anyone.

“I always used traditional medicine and other drugs from local vendors, whenever I feel pain in my body.

Mallam Muhammadu Hassan, Zainab’s husband, expressed happiness over his wife’s safe delivery, but called on the state government to complete the community’s hospital project that has been abandoned for years.
