KANO: For Failing To Concede Defeat, Governor Ganduje’s Aide Resigns

An aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Hashim Suleiman has resigned his position as Senior Special Assistant on Urban Beautification.

Suleiman’s resignation is apparently because of his disappointment in the outcome of the Kano governorship election.

His resignation was contained in a later dated Wednesday, March 13, 2019 and personally signed by him.

He regretted in his letter that the governor, who was supposed to demonstrate the spirit of a transparent Khadimul-Islam, failed to concede defeat to the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, in the March 9, governorship election in the state.

The PDP candidate had won the election at the end of collation, however it was declared inconclusive in what some political analysts argue was controversial.

Disappointed with the development Ganduje’s aide wrote: ”I write to formally inform you of my voluntary resignation from the office of SSA, Beautification.

“I thank you for offering me the opportunity to serve under your administration as SSA.”

He then said that as a transparent Khadimul-Islam, “the governor ought to have conceded defeat, so as to serve as a precedent to other Muslims, who serve Allah in truth and sincerity.”
