A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on Atyap Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf Local Government and Chawai Chiefdom in Kauru Local Government by the Kaduna State government.
The curfew is with immediate effect.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, security agencies are containing the tensions arising from a clash last week over a farmland in Zangon-Kataf.

Aruwan noted that community leaders had tried to ease the tension which seemed to have escalated.
