Kidnapped Wives, Child Of Slain Bauchi Lawmaker Rescued

Four days after they were kidnapped, the two wives and child of the member representing Dass Constituency at the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Baraza, have been released.

Recall that Baraza was attacked and killed by unknown gunmen last Thursday night at his home in Dass and his two wives and child abducted.

The names of his abducted wives are Rashida Musa Mante (40) and Rahina Musa Mante (35), while his daughter’s name is Fausar Musa Mante (1).

Four empty shells of life ammunition were said to have been recovered at the scene of the murder.

Their release was announced by the
Chief of Staff, Bauchi Government House, Ladan Salihu, on his twitter handle.

Salihu said: “Alhamdulillah! The wives of Hon. Musa Baraza, Bauchi House Member murdered 4 days ago in Dass have regained Freedom.

“The one year-old baby abducted along with them is also released. Gov Bala Mohammed has directed Doctors and security to give them adequate care and attention.”

The state police command also confirmed the release of the abducted victims by its men, who acted on credible information released by members of the public.

The deceased lawmaker had recently tested positive for the coronavirus barely 24-hours after his counterpart representing Toro/Jama’a constituency, Alhaji Tukur Ibrahim, had tested positive.

He was a close friend to Tukur.
