Kidnappers Kill Catholic Seminarian In Kaduna

A seminarian who was recently kidnapped alongside three others by gunmen along the Kaduna-Abuja highway is said to have been killed by the abductors.

18-year-old Michael Nnadi and the three others had been kidnap ed at the Good Shepard Catholic Major Seminary at Kakau village along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

The Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah, said Michael and the wife of Kaduna doctor were killed by the abductors.

“With a very heavy heart, I wish to inform you that our dear son, Michael was murdered by the bandits on a date we cannot confirm. He and the wife of a doctor were arbitrarily separated from the group and killed. The Rector identified the corpse this afternoon,” Kukah was quoted to have said by the Catholic News Agency.

The report said the catholic seminarians were taken away by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on January 10, 2020.

The gunmen were said to have shot sporadically into the air when they invaded the seminary before abducting the victims.

The Registrar of the seminary, Reverend Father Joel Usman, told journalists that Michael’s body was found in a bush.

The police authorities said three of the victims were later released by their abductors.
