Killings: Osinbajo Visits Benue

Vice President Yemi Osibanjo has arrived Makurdi, the Benue State capital, for a two-day working visit.

The Vice President is visiting the state for an assessment of the humanitarian crisis following the killings.

He is expected to visit some of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camp in the state.

He will also hold a meeting with various stakeholders.

Hundreds of people have been killed in Benue state alone in 2018 following clashes between Fulani herdsmen, who are mostly Muslims and the farmers, who are predominantly Christians.

The conflict, which dates back to 2013, has become rampant in the last 2 years.
