KOGI: Hunters Bust Kidnappers’ Den, Arrest Three

Local hunters in Kogi State have reportedly busted the hideout of suspected kidnappers at their hideout near Ossra-Irekpeni communities along Okene-Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The hunters reportedly stormed the Forest on Wednesday night following a tip off, thus, engaging the assailants in a gunfire.

Reports said the operation led to the arrest of three kidnappers while other gang members escaped with bullets wounds. The apprehended ones were, however, handed over to security operatives in Lokoja.

The chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Joseph Omuya, who confirmed the development to journalist, claimed that the kidnappers are part of the criminals terrorising residents and travellers along Okene-Lokoja-Abuja highway.

“One of the kidnappers have confessed about their mode of operation, the nature of sophisticated weapons they use, and listed the names of other gang members,” he told Daily Trust.

The Lokoja-Abuja highway is known to be one of the roads dreaded by  travelers due to the activities of kidnappers and other criminal gangs on the popular road.
