Mashood Mustapha and Saliu Mustapha, both governorship aspirants on the platform of APC in Kwara State had described the election conducted on Saturday as an abuse of the party’s constitution, following the series of violence that marred the process.

The APC NWC said Abdulrasaq who was a former governorship aspirant under the PDP platform in the state polled 29,098 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Prof. Oba Abu, who polled 23,298 votes and Alhaji Yammah Abdullahi who polled 22,116 votes.

Abdulrazaq dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after Senate President Bukola Saraki left the APC for the party.

Abdulrazaq had contested under the PDP for the Kwara Central Senatorial position against Saraki who was then a member of the APC in the 2015 election.
