Algeria Appoints George Leekens Ahead Of Super Eagles Clash

The Algerian Football Federation has appointed George Leekens as the new coach of the senior national team.
The 67-year-old Belgian, replaces Milovan Rajevac who was sacked last month following their 1-1 draw at home with Cameroon, in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Leekens, has been re-appointed to the post he held for six months in 2003 before quitting for “family reasons”.

His first assignment with Algeria will be a World Cup qualifier away to Nigeria in Uyo on November 12.
Nigeria currently lead Group B of the African World Cup qualifying zone with three points. Algeria and Cameroon have one point each, while Zambia have zero.
Leekens, a former Tunisia coach, will also forward the list of players he wants to use to prosecute the game against Nigeria at in Uyo in a fortnight.
The Belgian is also expected to lead the Desert Warriors to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, where they have been drawn in Group B with Zimbabwe, Tunisia and Senegal.
