Barack Obama Lauds Supreme Court For Upholding Gay Rights In U.S

A former President of the United States, Barack Obama, has lauded the Supreme Court for affirming gay rights in the in the country.

In a dissenting opinion (6-3) written by Justice Neil Gorsuch, on Monday, the court dismissed the Trump administration’s policy on the gay community, adding that it was wrong to discriminate against LGBT members.

“An employer who fires an individual for being homosexual or transgender fires that person for traits or actions it would not have questioned in members of a different sex. Sex plays a necessary and undisguisable role in the decision, exactly what Title VII forbids,” Gorsuch statement.

But one of the judges who dissented, maintained that it was the duty of the Congress to determine what sex represented in the U.S.

“Under the Constitution’s separation of powers, however, I believe that it was Congress’s role, not this Court’s, to amend Title VII. I therefore must respectfully dissent from the Court’s judgment,” Kavanaugh stated.

In his Statement on Facebook on Tuesday, Barack Obama stressed that the LGBT community had rights in the U.S.

He further said that American was home for all.

“Today’s Supreme Court ruling protecting LGBTQ Americans from workplace discrimination is an affirmation of our country’s founding promise of equality for all.

” I’m heartened to think of all those Americans who will no longer live in fear of being fired because of who they are and who they love,” he added.
