England Beat Denmark, Seal First Euro Finals Since 1966

England have forced Denmark out of the Euro 2020 after a 2-1 victory to secure first Euro final place since 55 years.

Wednesday semi-finals winner, England will battle Italy who narrowly escaped the fury of the Spanish team on Sunday in Wembley.

Denmark in the first half surprisingly were tied with the English side in London’s Wembley Stadium.

The favourites at the semi-finals clash conceded first after a free kick by Mikkel Damsgaard found its way in Jordan Pickford’s net.

Gareth Southgate’s side made an impressive fight against Kasper Hjulmand’s Denmark to force an own goal from Simon Kjaer in the 39th minute to level 1-1.

Just 49 minutes into the second half, Denmark survived a major scare after Vestergaard bumped into Saka, giving England a freekick wide on the right.

Bukayo Saka made way for Jack Grealish in the 53rd minute to boost Southgate’s side.

Harry Kane went down in the 18-yard box under a challenge by Norgaard, but the referee awarded a freekick to Denmark, a decision upheld by VAR. Though it appeared more like a penalty for England.

After 90 minutes, the teams were still tied and six additional minutes was added, yet neither of the teams could squeeze in a goal.

But in the last minutes, England who were playing in their home ground had an edge which should have change the score line.

The extra time started off with the English side pressing hard to penetrate the Danish defense.

Walker fired a pass through to Kane who hits it from 12 yard, but Schmeichel was there to make a great save.

England pressured Denmark who appeared to have lost a lot of energy.

Sterling made a brilliant dribble down the right and into the box before he was brought down by Maehle to secure a penalty for England.

Kane placed the penalty to the keeper’s left and it was saved by Denmark’s goalkeeper, but Kane luckily got the rebound to put his side 2 goals ahead in the 14th minute of the extra time.
