Jennifer Lopez Criticized After Making List Of Performers At 2019 Grammys

American Singer, Jennifer Lopez, has been criticized on social media following her announcement among those that will perform at the 2019 Grammy Awards in honour of Motown Records.

Lopez was picked to honour the record label on its 69th anniversary. The label was home to Michael Jackson and it currently houses some of the finest soul singers such as Dianna Ross, The temptations, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, and Gladys Knight etc.

According to the critics, the singer allegedly does not deserve the role because she lacks the vocal range the artists on the label are known for.

Some of the critics are asking why a Latina is picked to honour a black entertainment platform especially on a Black History Month.

J.Lo cannot sing, she is a dancer who tries to sing. Why let her do the Motown tribute when there are others with actual range? Very disappointing. #GRAMMYs

J.Lo built her career off of shoddy vocals, over-marketed sex appeal, and the cultural theft of Black women who are far more talented than she is, yet have not received the recognition they deserve. Having her do this Motown “tribute” is an insult.
