Juventus Appoints Club Legend Andrea Pirlo As New Coach

Hours after Juventus sacked Maurizio Sarri from his post as the head coach of the Turin side, they have appointed club legend who doubles as the clubs under 23 team coach, Andrea Pirlo as the next manager of the senior side.

Andrea Pirlo’s appointment will see him coach Juve till 2022 and the club in a statement on its website said that his appointment was because of the club’s believe that he will excel as the teams head coach.

“Today, begins a new chapter of his career in the world of football, as it was said almost a week ago: from Maestro to Mister. From today he will be THE coach for people of Juventus, as the club has decided to entrust him with the technical leadership of the First Team, after having already selected him for Juventus Under 23.

“Today’s choice is based on the belief that Pirlo has what it takes to lead from his debut on the bench, an expert and talented squad to pursue new successes.”

The Italian, 41, born in the Flero province of Brescia, is a phenomenal midfielder as he has won major laurels for both his country and club which includes the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super cups , two Seria A titles, a Coppa Italia and supercoppa Italiana.
