Vincent Enyeama: I Will Write A Book… On Messi

Former Super Eagles of Nigeria goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama has plans to write a book about his football career, and revealed that Barcelona super star, Leo Messi, would feature handsomely in the narrative.

Enyeama gave a snippet of the book recently in an interview when he revealed how he was able to stop the Argentinian striker from scoring against Nigeria in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The shot stopper made the revelation while answering questions on an Instagram live chat with Eaglestracker.ng .

In the long chat, he spoke about his time with the super Eagles.

When asked whether he was surprised that Nigeria lost their first game against Argentina after a six minute header from Gabriel Heinze gave Argentina the victory, Enyeama said:

“No, I was not. Like I told you, I didn’t expect them to have much opportunity to score.

“The truth is that, wherever he (Messi) was, I knew what he was going to do. He just became the World Best player at that young age.

“Then, I watched like a minimum of 15 of his Spanish league games. I studied him, saw his goals , saw where he played into. That’s what I was doing. I knew if it was on the right,he never shoots straight, he crossed and shoots through the other sides top angle. I knew if he is on the left side, he never plays it to the first pole. If he plays it to the first pole, that means the ball is close to his leg.

“This are things I will report in my book.”

Enyeama was phenomenal in the game as he was awarded Man of the Match in the game that saw him save several goal bound shots.

When quizzed about his upcoming book, he said it was a project he was committed to.
