Lady, 23 Dies After Abortion At A Chemist
A 23- year old woman, Hannatu has died after an abortion at a chemist in Niger State.
Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, who disclosed this to newsmen on Friday said the command has arrested two suspects for allegedly performing the abortion which led to the death of the deceased.

According to Usman, one Favour of Gauraka village had on November 6, 2019 at about 9:30am reported the case at Tafa Police Division, noting that her sister, Hannatu was impregnated by a suspect who gave her N4,000 to abort the pregnancy at a chemist in Gauraka.
He said the deceased was rushed to Sabon Wuse General Hospital, arising from complications in the abortion.
The police boss said that the impregnated victim was confirmed dead at the hospital, adding that the police succeeded in arresting the suspect and the owner of the chemist.
He revealed that after investigation, the two suspects would be charged to court.

The illegality of abortion has led to quackery in the medical profession.
People, mostly young unmarried ladies have over the years devised a means to carry out the operation.
