LAGOS: 330 Police Officers Undergo Stress Disorder Training

About 330 officials of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of the Lagos State Police Command, have undergone training on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and bleeding control.

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) took responsibility for the training which held on Governor Road, Alausa, in Ikeja.

The exercise was part of the quarterly training for the RRS officials to enable them to respond and quickly save lives during emergencies on the road.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, LSSTF’s Executive Secretary Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, said the training was to ensure that the officials, as first responders, know the basic steps to saving lives and be able to stabilise victims before the arrival of medical teams.

He called on residents to support the police to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

“It is important for all of us to realise that the police are meant to serve us. Let us on our part support them in whichever way or manner they may require of us,” he said.
