Lagos APC Primary: Thugs ‘Invade’ Voting Center In Abesan

Some thugs are said to have disrupted the voting process at Ward G North, Abesan, Alimosho, in the ongoing governorship primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state.

The over 15 hoodlums were said to have chased away voters who had arrived at the ward located inside the Abesan High School.

It was learnt that the hoodlums harassed and flogged the voters to dissuade them from voting at the ward.

But normalcy returned to the voting center after some policemen intervened and arrested some of the thugs.

Electorates across Lagos State are currently casting their votes to decide who emerges the gubernatorial flag-bearer of the APC between incumbent governor, Akinwumi Ambode, and his contender, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu is the preferred candidate of the national leader of the ruling party, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu had withdrawn his support for Ambode’s re-election, citing alleged deviation from “the blue print of development” in Lagos by the current governor.
