Lagos Commissioner Abayomi Recovers From COVID-19

The Lagos State commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi. has recovered from the COVID-19 after subsequent negative test.

This was disclosed by the state ministry of health in a tweet on Monday.

Recall that Abayomi had tested positive for coronavirus last week after coming in close contact with persons feeling unwell.

However following the mandatory isolation, the commissioner retook a COVID19 PCR test which returned negative Sunday evening.

The commissioner would return to his duties gradually as he remained determined to deliver on the mandate of Governor Babajide Sanwolu, who he says stood by him steadfastly during the trying times.

Professor Abayomi is very grateful and humbled by the deep concern shown and expressed by Executive Council members, civil servants, Lagos residents, Nigerians, both locally and in the diaspora, through prayers, messages, phone calls and gifts.

The ministry noted that Sanwolu is excited by the news of Abayomi’s recovery as he urged the residents of the state to realise that the virus is very much in existence in the state.

He reteirated the need for citizens to keep obeying Covid-19 safety protocols.
