Lagos Discharges 98-Year-Old COVID-19 Patient

Lagos State, on Wednesday, discharged a 9-year-old woman after she recovered from the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu personally announced the woman’s discharge from one of the state’s isolation centers via his Twitter account.

Sanwo-Olu said the woman is the oldest COVID-19 patient to be discharged in the state since the outbreak of the virus.

The governor said the old woman was discharged alongside 25 other patients (13 male and 12 female) on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lagos currently accounts for 2, 041 out of the 4,971 total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country on Wednesday

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, in a tweet on Wednesday, said the state had discharged no fewer than 502 patients, leaving it with about 1,504 active cases, according to latest figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night.

Lagos State has so far recorded a total of 33 fatalities as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak.
