Leaked Tapes: Singer Yemi Alade Slams Amaechi For Calling Nigeria Hopeless

Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has reacted to a statement credited to the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, where he allegedly described Nigeria as “a hopeless country” in some leaked audio recordings.

Mr Amaechi, who is the Director-General of President Buhari’s 2019 campaign organisation, had earned severe criticisms after the audio recordings were leaked allegedly by the Presidential Campaign Council of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday.

Reacting, the singer took to her twitter page to ask Mr Amaechi and other government officials to live up to their responsibilities or give way to those who can lead.

The 29-year-old singer tweeted: “Top Nigerian government officials saying that Nigeria is a hopeless country. Please, why do you campaign for Office? Give way to those who still have hope in a better Nigeria.

“Politicians are all the same, what would it cost to have good roads, good education, good drinking water, and stable electricity?

“You can’t be in POWER forever don’t forget, neither can you carry all the money to your grave.”
