The Likes Of Dino Reason I Said ‘Senate Not For Youth’ – Jona Jang

Senator Jona Jang of Plateau North has restated that Nigerian youths have no business becoming senators, citing Senator Dino Melaye’s exemplary rowdiness.

Jang, whose earlier statement had sparked controversy, reaffirmed his position on Sunday during a chat with journalists at his residence in Du, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The Senator had reportedly said on JayFM that “the Senate is not for the youth”.

Some Nigerians had expressed disapproval of the former Plateau state governor’s statement.

But Jang backed his claim by saying the House of Representatives is always rowdy because of too many young people in it.

“If you have hot heads of youthful nature in the Senate and House of representatives, what kind of laws do you think the National Assembly will produce for Nigerians?

“That is why the House of Representative is always rowdy, full of young people, though we have a few of them (youth) in the senate, the likes of Dino.

“That is why I said (the) Senate is not for the young ones. And in Hausa language, the senate is called “Maijelisan Datibai” meaning ”assembly of elders”, so where is the position of the youth here?” asked the 70-year-old Senator.
