MainaGate: Your Usual Aloofness Towards Scandals Won’t Work, Ezekwesili Tells Buhari
The former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s usual “aloofness” towards national scandals “won’t work”.
The former minister said this in reaction to the return and controversial reinstatement of the former Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Pension, Abdulrasheed Maina to the civil service.
Ezekwesili said that Maina’s scandal, is “one scandal too many and the most lethal blow yet to a struggling anti-corruption agenda”.
In a series of tweet via her twitter handle, Ezekwesili said if President Buhari took “public confidence building measures on #MainaGate, #SGFGate, #NIAGate he may yet revive faith in his agenda”.
#MainaGate is one SCANDAL TOO MANY for Pres @MBuhari ‘s administration. The time has come for the President to OWN these SCANDALS & ACT.
