Arsenal’s 23rd minute substitute, David Luiz , gifted Man City two goals as the last season champions trounced Arsenal 3-0 at a rain-soaked Etihad stadium on Wednesday night.
The match, which was the second played following the resumption of the Premier League on Wednesday after the coronavirus epidemic had forced a suspension, recorded its first goal when fleet footed Raheem Sterling capitalized on a David Luiz error to score the first goal.
The second goal came when a penalty was converted by Kevin De Bruyne after Luiz again tripped Riyad Mahrez and the referee pointed to the spot.
Phil Foden compounded the visitors’ misery when he scored a late goal to make it 3-0.
Also, the horrendous Luiz was eventually sent out by the referee.
Elsewhere, Aston Villa and Sheffield United played a 0-0 draw. The players kneeled when the whistle was blown for the kick-off in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
