Manchester City To Face Possible Ban After Loss Of Fair Play Investigation

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has announced on Friday that investigation into alleged breaches of financial fair play by Manchester City will continue after the club’s attempt to strike out the case was ruled ‘inadmissible’.

CAS ruling against the club was because the legal process is not yet at an end.

According to CAS, City had not “exhausted the legal remedies available to it prior to the appeal”.

Based on the development, the adjudicatory chamber of UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body has a legal right to hold a hearing into the City’s alleged supplied of misleading financial information.

City will face a possible transfer ban, ban from European competition or fine.

Recall in 2018 German magazine Der Spiegel as part of “Football Leaks” published leaked emails which exposed city’s breach of the UEFA financial fair play.
