Manchester United Names Maguire Captain As Young Seals Deal With Inter

Manchester United Coach, Ole Gunnar has confirmed Harry Maguire will replace departing Ashley Young as club’s permanent captain.

Young, 34 has on Friday landed in Italy in a bid to seal a 1.28 million transfer deal to Inter Milan, as his contract with United ends in the summer of 2020.

Maguire has in the absence of Young worn the armband this season, and is expected to continue in subsequent matches for the Red Devils.

Maguire is a first team England international and is one of the most experienced players in the United team after joining Old Trafford from Leicester City this summer.

Solskjaer was keen to keep the 34 years defender, but the England international, Young had made up his mind to fly his trade in Italy, where he will reunite with former United teammates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez at Antonio Conte’’ in the summer at Inter Milan.
