Mary J Blige’s Husband Demands $130k Monthly Spousal Support

American singer and songwriter, Mary J. Blige’s estranged husband, Martin Isaacs has demanded $130,000 monthly spousal support from her as part of their divorce settlement.

According to him the amount will let him continue the ‘lavish’ lifestyle he enjoyed before she filed for divorce, as she was the only breadwinner during their almost 13-year marriage,

Kendu the R&B songstress earned between $1.5 to $5.1 million over the last 2 years as her manager but has earned zero income since Mary kicked him to the curb.

In the documents filed, Mr. Isaacs, 49, demanded for the said amount as he believes should help him pay for his personal training sessions, $3,200 private chef, $8,000 and a $1,000 allowance for new clothes.

In addition, he has also asked Blige to contribute to the $5,000 he pays his parents each month and the $71,000 in rent he owes to several properties.

Blige, 45, filed for divorce from Issacs in July, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly 13 years of marriage. She also fired her husband as her personal manager. 

Isaacs claimed that he made $46,204 a month when he was employed by his wife, and earned a total of $554,465 last year as her manager, adding that he now needs spousal support because his financial situation has ‘changed significantly in the last 12 months.

Blige gave her estranged husband $35,000 in August and $50,000 in September for spousal support, in addition to $25,000 for his legal counsel, but according to the filing Isaacs had used the money to ‘secure new living accommodations’. 

He said he wants Blige to pay $129,319 out of the $161,434 he spends per month as his account is overdrawn, with a balance of -$13,104, stating that he wants to return to living the life of an A-list celebrity.
