Maryam Sanda: Nigerians Show No Sympathy As ‘Killer Wife’ Gets Death Sentence

Maryam Sanda’s conviction by death has been described as “justice at last” for her late husband, Bilyaminu Bello, whom she killed on November 19, 2017, by stabbing him to death.

Nigerians took to twitter to hail Sanda’s conviction by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Monday.

Justice Yusuf Halilu found Sanda, who is nursing a daughter, guilty on two-count of homicide and consequently sentenced her to death by hanging.

Her late husband was the nephew of a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Mohammed Bello.

THE WHISTLER had reported how Sanda was said to have murdered Bilyanu barely few days to his 36th birthday.

Some Nigerians who reacted to her conviction on Twitter, expressed excitement at the judgement.

One Twitter user, Sally Suleiman (@is_salsu), said: “Happy to read the news that Maryam Sanda who killed her husband has been convicted. This serves as a warning to all those planning to kill their spouse, you will rot in jail and probably die by hanging. Leave the marriage if you have issues. Don’t kill your husband or wife.”
